The Staff![]() "Wendy, Stephanie, Marta, Cindi, and Carlyn" Contact Carlyn Galerie Wendy Dunham is co-owner with her mother, Cindi Ray. She is also a jewelry designer. Wendy enjoys creating custom pieces for our clients; she takes great enjoyment in designing jewelry for a bride and her attendants and for other special occasions. As Director of the Galerie, she is the one most responsible for working with the artists. She can easily assess which artists could best create those custom orders for our clients’ specific requests. Born and raised in Dallas, Wendy graduated from the University of San Diego with a major in business. In 1997, she moved back to Dallas and joined Carlyn Galerie. Wendy’s “other life” is that of wife to husband, Dan, and mother to baby Dax. Carlyn Ray Janecky, Wendy’s sister, is obviously the namesake of the Galerie. Born and raised in Dallas, Carlyn received a volleyball scholarship to attend the College of William and Mary. During second semester junior year, she studied glass blowing in New Zealand. Carlyn graduated from W&M with a degree in art. Upon graduation, she took two concentrations in glass at the Penland School of Crafts in N.C. She also did a glass apprenticeship with Joe Nielander in Spruce Pine. It was during her spring glass concentration that she met her husband, Martin Janecky. He is a Czech master glass artist, who teaches throughout the country and around the world. When she is not traveling with Martin, she can be found valuably assisting at the Galerie. Stephanie Brettel is our Assistant Director and in charge of all corporate accounts. She is definitely the person who has all the details for corporate gifting. Stephanie’s education was in Fashion Design and she graduated from U. Of N. Texas; somehow this led her into sales at the Galerie. Her enjoyment of art and our clients is apparent in her demeanor and enthusiasm; her skills and personality are well suited and compliment the Galerie. Martha (Marta) Enriques has been with Galerie for over seven years. Marta does all the in-house boxing and bowing as well as checking in inventory. She is also in charge of all of the UPS shipping. She has developed a talent for merchandising and has assumed the responsibilities for display. Her mental catalogue of our inventory, artists and prices is amazing; our clients know they can always ask her questions and receive helpful answers. She’s great at sales and is especially helpful with individuals whose first language is Spanish. In addition to her responsibilities at the Galerie, she is a wife and mother of three boys and one daughter. Cindi Ray is the co-owner of the Galerie. She opened in 1989 and was sole owner until Wendy joined the business in 1997. Cindi grew up in Scottsdale, AZ. She graduated from Scripps College, CA, with honors in art - ceramics under Paul Soldner and weaving with Marian Stewart. Having been in business before in a small shopping center, Olla Podrida, in Dallas, she was ready to open an American craft store in the mid-1980's. Fortunately, the ACC had two conventions in Dallas during those years and that gave her the impetus to create the Galerie. In addition to her two daughters who are associated with Carlyn Galerie, she has another daughter, Traci, veterinarian sales in Florida, and Harper, a mortgage broker in Austin, TX. |
