*
Charles Caryl Coleman's Still Life with Azaleas and Apple Blossoms, 1878 inspired this collection. Both composition and choice of objects were inspired by the contemporary fashion for Japanese art at that time. The paintin also demonstrates his sympathy with the Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century in opposition of the Industrial Revolution and mass production.
Hand patinaed bronze, Akoya Keshi perals, and layered gold, copper and silver plating.
